FAQs

Mailbox Solutions

  • What kind of mailbox do I need?

We provide both single and cluster mailbox options. Single mailboxes work well if you do not share a post with neighbors or reside in a rural location. For shared posts, we stock adapter brackets designed to accommodate two, three, or four single mailboxes. When more than four mailboxes are required, you can combine multiple adapter brackets across several posts to achieve the necessary capacity. Alternatively, a group box serves as an effective solution for communities with more than four residents.

  • Where are the single mailboxes made?

Our single mailboxes, posts, and accessories are all manufactured in Oregon. The products we produce in-house are built at our facility in Sherwood, Oregon.
  • What do I do if I've lost my keys?

If you have lost all of your keys, a new lock will be required. For group mailboxes, locks can typically be obtained through any locksmith or ordered directly from us. Mailboxes manufactured by Mailbox Solutions utilize a Euro-Lock, which is generally only available through our company. A replacement Euro-Lock with two keys costs $25.00. We can provide guidance on replacing your lock yourself, or we can arrange a service call to handle the replacement for a nominal fee.
  • How can I get additional keys?

If your mailbox keys are marked with CompX or National, a locksmith should be able to duplicate an original key for you.
  • Why doesn't my key work anymore?

Keys and locks accumulate dust and lint over time. This debris often infiltrates the springs and pins within the lock's keyway, causing the key to resist insertion or preventing it from turning once inserted. This is a frequent problem that can be resolved easily. The lock requires flushing and lubrication using a penetrating oil such as Slick 50 1 Lube, WD40, or PB Blaster. Apply the penetrating oil into the lock slot and repeatedly work the key in and out while wiping away the contaminated oil with a clean paper towel. Warning: Do not use graphite-based lubricants.
  • Do I need to order a flag separate from the box?

No. A flag is included with your mailbox.
  • Do I need to order a lock separate from the box?

No. The lock you select will already be installed in your mailbox.
  • What is the difference between an in-ground post and a surface post?

In-ground posts are installed into the ground and secured using concrete. Surface posts are mounted onto sidewalks by drilling holes and fastening the base with bolts.
  • How many keys do I get with my mailbox?

    Each mailbox includes two keys.
